Dear Parents,
As we quickly approach the start of the 2020-2021 school year, we are continuing to do all we can to prepare for a safe return to school. Part of our efforts have included implementing facility modifications to help reinforce social distancing guidelines, purchasing additional cleaning supplies, and, as you can imagine, many hours of research and planning.
Our official SBCA Return to School Safely Plan is now available containing all of the policies and procedures we’re putting in place to help keep our staff, students and their families safe and healthy with the current Covid-19 health concerns. Please know that this plan incorporates input from a variety of sources including our Board of Directors, the Baldwin County Health Department, healthcare professionals, students, parents, and community members.
VIEW SBCA RETURN TO SCHOOL SAFELY PLANDetails such as drop-off and pick-up procedures, social distancing practices, guidelines for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), after-school program information, cleaning and disinfecting protocol, and much more are featured in this plan. Although before-care will not be possible this year in order to observe recommended CDC social distancing guidelines, we will be able to accommodate both after-care and after-school enrichment programs.
To avoid contact and exposure to large groups, students will be kept in student teams and every effort will be made for students to only interact with others within their own team. Students will be divided into the following teams:
- Team 1: K3, K4 and K5
- Team 2: 1st, 2nd,3rd Grades
- Team 3: 4th, 5th and 6th Grades
- Team 4: Middle and High School
As scheduled, K3-12thgrade instruction will begin on campus Wednesday, August 12, 2020. All new and returning families are required to attend registration beginning next week, July 20th – July 31st. If you haven’t already, please use the link below to reserve your registration appointment. Daytime and evening hours are available for the convenience of our families. If you are not planning on registering for the upcoming school year, we ask that you please let us know by emailing us at registration@southbaldwinca.org to allow us to plan accordingly.
We are fortunate to already have the opportunity to operate with small class sizes and a campus that is easily able to be reconfigured to meet the needs of our students – physically, educationally, and spiritually – during these unprecedented times. Our staff and teachers are committed to our mission of providing a Christian education with academic excellence in a safe, caring environment that allows students to achieve their full potential and discover God’s plan for their lives. I am proud to work alongside them as we prepare to return to school safely.
I welcome you to reach out with any questions you may have as you review this plan. Thank you, in advance, for entrusting us with your precious children. We do not take this responsibility lightly and will do all we can to serve your family well during the upcoming school year.
Blessings,
William “Buzz” Lance
Head of School
