Car Line Procedures
Morning Drop Off – 7:45 a.m – 8:00 a.m.
Please make sure to watch carefully around you and drive slowly when dropping your student off in the morning. Parents are being asked to remain inside their vehicles during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up to help reduce the number of people on our campus at one time. Our dedicated staff will make sure that all of our students arrive at their classrooms safely. We are going to do our best to move through car line quickly, but we ask that you give us grace as we adjust to these new procedures during the first week of school.
- Please pull up to the front of the school wait until you get to the front door before you let your child out of the car. A staff member will take your child’s temperature with a touchless thermometer while still inside the vehicle. Again, please remain inside your vehicle while our staff completes your child’s temperature check. Our staff is happy to help small children who need assistance exiting the vehicle.
- Pre-school parents, it you want to walk your student to their classroom during the first two weeks of school (parents must wear a face mask and have their temperature taken with their child at the entry gate), please park in the gravel parking area instead of right in front of the school or in the actual drive. When someone leaves their car in front of the school to walk in, it causes traffic to back up. Unfortunately, this means children are getting out of cars too far back. When that happens, not only are there children walking among the cars, but then those that need to leave are driving around the main line.
- In addition to that, when you park in the grassy area right in front of the school, you will then have to back up into traffic to leave. We hope to cut back on any traffic jams and prevent accidents by asking that you avoid parking in those areas for any length of time longer than just letting your student out at the gate.
Please understand that we do not have someone on duty to supervise students until 7:45 a.m. It is unsafe for students to be dropped off early.
Afternoon Pickup – 2:30 p.m.
Afternoon carline will take place at the Mimi Mayes Gymnatorium.
Students will be grouped within their “teams” and properly distanced while awaiting pickup.
It is important to keep the flow of traffic for all cars to enter off of County Road 8 and to exit onto Hwy 59. Please do not block the marina’s drive while waiting in car line. They have a sign showing you where to stop and wait until the driveway is clear to move forward. Our goal is to get everyone through the line as quickly as possible while making sure the students stay safe. Teachers will be there to walk their students to your car and they will let you know when you can drive away. Please pay attention to them as they direct traffic for everyone’s benefit.
Thank you so much for following these procedures and helping us ensure the safety of our parking lot!
