SBCA high school students are now participating in the Alabama Water Watch program. Alabama Water Watch is a volunteer, water quality monitoring program offered through the Auburn University Water Resources Center that covers all of the major river basins in Alabama. Their mission is to improve both water quality and policy through educating, training, and empowering citizens to make a positive impact by using their water monitoring data for environmental education, water body restoration and protection, and involvement in watershed stewardship.
Mrs. Demarest and Mrs. Arnould earned their certifications in water chemistry data monitoring and will be overseeing the high school’s monthly water quality testing of Wolf Creek. We are very excited to be a part of this opportunity that will enhance our overall learning experience as well as benefit our community.
