The addition of the gymnatorium will allow SBCA to make new athletic, fine arts and ministry opportunities available for SBCA students and the community. Designed to serve multiple purposes, the facility features a full basketball court and performing arts stage. Chapel services, fine arts, physical education, and athletic events will be moved into the new facility.
SBCA began launching athletic programs including basketball and cross country last year in anticipation of the new construction. The school also became a member of one of the leading Christian school athletic conferences in the country, the Panhandle Christian Conference. Future athletic program plans include the addition of intramural and competitive sports programs such as weightlifting, volleyball and wrestling.
The foundation for SBCA was laid 10 years ago when a local church, three educators and a group of parents came together with 35 students and a mission to help students discover the plans God has for their lives. Today, more than 170 students are served by 24 qualified and experienced staff members. The school is accredited with AdvancEd, the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS) and the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA).
More information will be available about this new facility and the ribbon cutting ceremony on the official school website at www.SouthBaldwinCA.org as updates are released.
