Grandparents Day THIS Friday!

We are excited about Grandparents Day coming up THIS Friday, Oct. 11th at 11:30 a.m. in the Mimi Mayes Gymnatorium! Parents, please note the below information for this special event. We’ve also included a photo gallery of some of last year’s decorated tables to help give you some ideas.

Table Decorations

Parents are invited to decorate your child’s table for Grandparents Day after drop off. When decorating your child’s table, please do not remove your card with your family’s number on it from your child’s table. The card needs to remain visible and should not be blocked from view with decor. Keep in mind that these cards are what our staff and volunteers use to help seat our grandparents at the correct table.

If you do not have time to set up your table in the morning, please drop all of your desired decorations off in a labeled bag at the Mimi Mayes Gymnatorium and a parent volunteer will set your table up for you. Decor and lunch items should not be placed in your child’s backpack. Make sure to also label everything in the bag to ensure that all items are returned to the correct family.

Lunch Items

You will also need to pack a lunch labeled with your child’s name on it for your child and your child’s grandparents. You can leave it in a small cooler under or beside the table. Refrigeration for lunch items is not available so make sure to bring a cooler if your lunch items are temperature sensitive. Please also include drinks in your prepared lunch as drinks will not be provided. If you are planning on having your lunch items delivered, make sure your child’s name is clearly labeled.

Students are welcome to leave with their grandparents after lunch or stay with their teacher and get picked up from school as usual.
