Recently, we have been genuinely blessed by a wide variety of guest speakers during our Middle/High School Chapel services. For the months of March and April, our focus has been on local, national and international missions as we have had the privilege of hosting multiple missionaries on campus.
We began with Jon Mark Smith from Eastern European Missions. This organization began smuggling Bibles across the Iron Curtain in 1961 and is presently ministering in over 30 countries with over 1,000,000 Bibles & Bible-based materials distributed.
The next week, our Head of School, Mr. Buzz Lance, and I shared our personal experiences on the mission field with our students, and helped them to understand that anyone can be used by God in global missions by just putting their “Yes” on the table.
Then, Pastor Mark Dahn from Liberia, Africa, shared with us about Light Evangelism Ministries, and how they are educating and equipping African students to make a difference for the Kingdom of God.
The following week, Pastor Luke Camara shared with us about him and his family answering God’s call to move to Portugal this summer, and how they are presently making preparations and raising support in order to serve as full-time missionaries there.
Finally, John Martin Davis, who leads our worship each Friday, shared with our students about Innercry Ministries and their endeavors to minister to the homeless population in Mobile, AL.
John Martin reminded our students of the mission field all around them and encouraged them to look for and seize each God-given opportunity to love and help those right here in our own backyard.
We are so thankful for these missionaries who testified before our students about the awesome God we serve and the amazing opportunities we have to partner with Him in His global Gospel agenda.
