It’s an exciting time for our SBCA athletics! Our student-athletes are halfway through their volleyball and basketball seasons and doing great. Students work hard every practice to improve their skills and develop their God-given talents. The past few weeks have shown the true strength of our Knight family and we’re looking forward to many more victories in the future!
Volleyball
We just finished up volleyball season and our Lady Knights did a great job representing our school.
Basketball
JV and varsity basketball kicked-off with a half-day camp. Our students learned helpful fundamentals, new plays, and welcomed some new teammates and assistant coaches. Adding new players means we get to have a JV and varsity team this year! We are excited to see the growth in our team and ability. Coach Scott Gulledge and assistant coaches Tim Brett and Jeff Osborne are doing a great job incorporating basketball fundamentals, as well as, life skills such as leadership and teamwork.
Our first home game is November 16th and our guys and girls would love for you to come out and show support.
Out of uniform passes are awarded to all students who attend home games as a thank you for showing school spirit.
Plans are now being made for youth basketball and cheer as we gather interest polls. We need coaches for these younger guys and girls! If you are willing to jump-in and coach, please let us know. Stay tuned by visiting our website blog and social media for the most up-to-date information. We hope to offer 6U, 8U, and 10U levels.
Cheerleading
And, of course, our basketball team just wouldn’t be complete without our SBCA Cheerleaders! Ms. Madelynn Coleman and Ms. Sarah Mahan will be coaching our cheerleaders this season! On Friday, November 20th, our girls will be selling donuts in the morning drop-off car line as their first fundraiser.
Archery
Archery kicks off the second week in January, every Friday, from 3:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Booster Club
Booster Club worked really hard last year to raise money to grow our athletic department and this year we reaped the benefits by adding a new weight room for our athletes. They are excited to get started learning new ways to build muscle, agility, and grow their overall athletic ability.
That’s all for now. Go Knights!
